Who Am I?

I didn’t think about keeping this present when I first started this blog. Obviously I’m not the same person that I was when I started this. But this is who I was in October of 2009, when I first started this blog. No sense in updating it now; I will only keep changing. I will change the typo that I see now, as I just don’t think I can let that one slide.

I am Nikki, a 32-year-old, first-time pregnant woman who has finally decided to blog about her pregnancy experience. My husband, Ronny, and I were married a little while ago, on 8.23.08, and we’re now expecting our first child. We’re excited, we’re thrilled, and we’re absolutely terrified. At the time that I started this blog, I was about 23 weeks along in my pregnancy before I finally found the chance and motivation to get started on the writing. But here it is. Here is our adventure, two clueless thirty-somethings careening toward parenthood.

You may notice that I call the baby he, she, or s/he, it or Claude, depending on what I feel like at the time. Just tolerate it; as soon as the baby comes, on or around February 12, 2010, there will be a definite gender and a real name…hopefully.

And, please note, I’m hoping that this doesn’t turn into the average “Mom Blog”, but who knows? I’m hoping not to be an average mom, but then again, I suppose no one really does. I just hope I’m capable of being a mother. Time will tell.

  1. Give her lots of hugs and kisses and tell her you love her constantly. Listen to everything she says no matter how unimportant it is to you. No spanking! Let the dishes and the housekeeping wait and play with her instead. Don’t give her a puppy too soon. Rock her to sleep at night until she is too big to hold and her grade school friends are making fun of her. Give her swimming lessons as soon as possible. Teach her how to like herself. And, so many more!!!
